I'll take you on the journey of this year long diet because as with
most journeys, having a friend along can really breed success by
providing motivation in the hard times and cheerleader in the good.
The idea for this came to me this autumn. I saw a squirrel in our yard
and he was fat, but looked good. He was fat because he was preparing
for winter. I asked myself "why is it o.k., even expected for him to
gain weight in the autumn?" The answer I came up with is that it is a
natural cycle.
I am six feet one inch tall. I weigh 205 lbs and I could exercise a
little more but all in all I am not doing too badly for a forty year
old father of three. If I were a squirrel, I would be ready for winter.
Now, like the squirrel, I will have to make food more scarce and only
eat what is in season or what can be stored.
Best,
Joe
