It’s the holiday season and that means memories of good times shared with those we love. Sometimes that includes a loved one who is no longer living, at least not in the physical world. So I ask that those of you who have not yet lost a loved one close to you remember to cherish them now while you can still hold them.
For those of us who have already lost someone we love, holding them one more time would mean so much. The living need to be careful to not take loved ones for granted and by remembering this you live a fuller and more meaningful life. Younger generations need to remember who they represent when they walk out the door. We represent every relative that came before us and those who will come after us. Our elders pass their wisdom to us and we raise our elders’ energy level through youthful playfulness as well as through our willingness to take chances.
We all need each other and we learn from each other. We learn our elders’ customs, recipes, songs etc. and create fresh new ones and together they make the memories that will tell the story of our lives. Our families anchor us and the young keep life exciting. Happy Holidays!
