Medium 2/16/09 "A Person of Interest"

Season 5 number 3

I found the personal, DuBois side of this episode hauntingly familiar. Yet the A-story was nothing that I recognize. The beginning with the kids fighting and Allison being overly upset that “Joe” was eating a cupcake is real. I live the life of not always knowing the full reason of why my spouse has the emotional response that she has.

The A-story was very interesting and downright fascinating. Allison does have visions when she shakes someone’s hand or meets them for the [...]

Medium 2/23/09 "About Last Night"

Season 5 number 4

First and foremost I have to say that Allison has never been possessed. This is a second story in which she is not in control. She is very much in control of herself and I have always felt this is part of the reason she is whom she is. Some people have the ability to communicate with the dead, but they do not have the strength of personality to draw boundaries. This is something many people, psychic or otherwise, need to learn.

Now this is not to say that I did not compl [...]

Season 5 number 5

This lets me answer the all time number one question I am asked. “Do you get enough sleep?” Yes I get enough sleep. I am not a big sleeper to start with, but now that I am forty I find I need more than before.

As a side note I have been experimenting with B-vitamin supplements and they seem to really give me a lot of extra energy. I cannot take them after 3pm or I won’t go to sleep. Another great energizer is plain old motivation. If you have a reason to be awake, you wi [...]

MediuM 2/9/09 - "Things to Do in Phoenix When You're Dead"

Another great episode! You have to love the twists that Glenn puts in the show. Allison was really left guessing about the ghost. I can't spoil it for the other countries or for people who watch it on Lifetime.
I really like the b-story. Just last week I had a little chat with a boy who Aurora knows from school. He was not happy about it, but hopefully we will not need to chat again. Like any father I am protective of my daughters.
I also really liked the ending. There was no [...]

MediuM - Soul Survivor"

I watch the new episode of Medium on NBC with the commercials just like everyone else. I am so glad it is back on and will be airing new episodes through the end of the year. I am also glad Mecedes is advertising during the show, maybe there is some way I could get them to hook me up with a new car. I would gladly tell everyone I know how great it is.

Everyone always asks what is real and what is made up. In general, the show is Allison and Joe in TV land. They usually change the names of the [...]

Odds and Ends
I have a lot to say, but not much time. I have been thinking about this
since last night.
First, I do read the comments. Thank you. My discourse on the existence
of ghosts is just a beginning. This is a starting point, I don't know
where it is going. My guess is that to fully explore this thought it
would take ten thousand words and that means it will have to be in a
book!
Second, the disclaimer (and I really hate to have to say this because I
do not want to insult your intelligence).
Four Seasons
We are up in the mountains of Arizona right now and preparing for
Christmas. Allison's father's birthday is Christmas eve. He passed away
6 years ago. I've been noticing signs that he has been sending us to
let us know he is around. From a song on the radio or seemingly random
pattern of footprints in the snow revealing a smiley face.
Some people believe that these aren't signs but are just random events
that our minds are trying to find patterns in. I recently read a
philosophy book th [...]

Four Seasons Diet

I'll take you on the journey of this year long diet because as with
most journeys, having a friend along can really breed success by
providing motivation in the hard times and cheerleader in the good.
The idea for this came to me this autumn. I saw a squirrel in our yard
and he was fat, but looked good. He was fat because he was preparing
for winter. I asked myself "why is it o.k., even expected for him to
gain weight in the autumn?" The answer I came up with is that it is a [...]

Winter Solstice, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

As a amateur stargazer I know that today is the winter solstice. This is the shortest day of the year and has historically been celebrated. I wish you all good tidings!

Today I am starting a new diet. Some would say I should wait until New Years but I am not because my new diet is based on the seasons. I call it the four seasons diet and I will let you know how it's going as the year progresses.

Best,
Joe

p.s. A quick note for all of you from Australia. My diet is based on the seasons [...]

Missing Cat

Missing Cat When Allison's friend Domini was sick with cancer she took in a kitten. Of course there was no way Domini could care for this cat and herself our her children. Domini gave the kitten to Allison in December, the cat was four months old. On the way home with the cat a woman in a minivan took a left in front of Allison and hit her. The cat survived the car accident so we named him Caesar, a strong and noble name. Recently, Caesar took off from our house and did not come back [...]

I've Been on the Road
I think it’s important to give feedback on the cities that I go to when
I’m on tour so that for future events you might like to visit these
cities on holiday and enjoy your surroundings in conjunction with my
event.

I’ll always tour Phoenix because it’s where I grew up and the
people are usually very friendly. The resorts are beautiful and
accommodating. The Phoenician is one of my favorites, the Sanctuary is
outstanding too, I threw Joe his [...]

Medium - Another Great Season

The finale is hard to comment on because I know that people in other countries have not seen it and I would not want to spoil it. It does have a lot of twists and turns. I very much enjoyed watching the way Glenn tells a story and the actors act it out. Now we have to wait through the whole summer for the next season. Maybe I will go back and watch the first season and write comments on those.

High [...]

MediuM - Being Joey Carmichael

MediuM

Thank you Glenn, you know the true Joe.

The Medium episode "Being Joey Carmichael" was kind of weird for me to watch. TV Joe learned a great lesson about himself and his wife. I re-lived learning those lessons while watching this episode. Allison is particularly good at knowing peoples intentions and knowing whensomething is being hidden. I have not been so aggressively approached, but given what Allison can do I don't have to be for it to affect her. I [...]

Allison gets most of her information while awake. Very seldom does she wake from a nightmare or other vivid dream. Like in the show, I sleep on the right and Allison on the left. I don't remember the writers researching that level of detail but suffice it to say they got i [...]

Wow!! Have you guys been watching Medium this season. I know I am a little biased, but it has been incredible. Anjelica Huston, I don't know if I should love her character or not. Kelly Preston, just exactly what are her motives. Kurtwood Smith playing an FBI agent who is a vigil ante from the otherside. Joe is inventing things. And where is Ariel?

Joe

US Tour Kicks Off in Mesa, AZ

“Well, I kicked off my tour in Mesa, AZ. On February 9th. It was so moving to see the audience reach out to the man that I read on stage. His story moved us all and I watched 700 people feel for him it was beautiful. We all laughed, we mourned it was a special day. So, thank you to all of the people that came out to the event. Thanks, to all of my staff and friends that made that dayso much easier for me. I had one really excited fan Angela that hollered to me that, “I rocked the [...]

Allison's Racecar School

Buying Christmas presents for Allison is always hard. This year I did one thing she never expected, I listened. On her list of things to do before she dies is attend race car driver's school. Here in Phoenix we have the Bondurant driving school at Firebird Raceway.

They advertise now and then and she would always say that she wanted to do it. On New Years Eve day they had a half day class in which the student get to drive four different cars. I took my Christma present (a video [...]

Allison's Interview with TV Guide

{mosimage}Excerpt from Allison's Recent interview regarding her new book.

Real-life Medium Allison DuBois Shares Secrets to a Happy Life by Craig Tomashoff

So far, Allison DuBois' life as a medium has been well done. Not only is she the inspiration

for the hit NBC series Medium, featuring Patricia Arquette as a barely fictionalized version of her, but she's also an accomplished author.
